The summer after high school has stretched itself out in front of Stiles like a bad joke. The chances of carefree fun got downgraded one friend at a time. The pack, well they fell off like dominos.
By the fourth of July, Stiles is the last man standing. Technically, there is still Derek, and sure there is a bond between the two of them, one built from mutually begrudging respect. At best, Derek can be allusive. He used to be a shadow that Stiles only saw when the lighting was right, or the moon was out.
If Stiles is looking for trouble to fill up the listless summer, then Derek is his answer.
A full moon and a misplaced hex are just added textures to an already complicated situation.
