Summary
Day one of Nick's enrollment in the ZPD and already they silently fought to meet each morning and leave together each night, familiar though its novelty. Bundled up with newfound realizations and near-death experiences, and ever since extinguishing the Lynxleys' reign and reestablishing the foundations of Zootopia, an unspoken agreement was inscribed between the star officers: to stick together, forever and always, or so forsake anyone who dared sever their bond.
Nick might as well have considered them wedding vows. Till death do us part could sneak itself in, and nobody would be the wiser.
Judy rejects a promotion. Nick can't possibly fathom why.

Summary
She had to be bluffing. Right? No fluffy-tailed, wide-eyed (smirking, he thinks back bitterly) under-dweller would be psychotic enough to pull such a stunt. If he had half a mind to recognize that she's just playing around in daddy's uniform and sicking her fiendish revenge plots on those who clearly didn't deserve it, then he would've snatched the device that caged his admittance of (liberal!) use of money and fled before she could drag him by the tail to this joint.
Wait—he stole that smirk back, then, a swell of realization flickering on like a switch—she didn't know this joint.
Nick's thoughts upon Judy visiting the naturalist club.

Summary
“You’d tell me if you were in pain...right?”
Judy watches his expression shift into what she can only suspect to be guilt, his eyes wavering in a spell of conflict, and she wonders why such a mood would be present. It makes her want to etch a crack in his walls again, to be given the rite of passage. To see where his mind goes when they face each other like this, emotions all at once named yet reshaped to avoid a deeper context, in fear of unleashing too much.
The tension in the air threatening to suffocate them dissipates when Nick lays on his usual smile, its very significance praying it’ll fool her.
“If I were in pain, Carrots, you’ll know.”
Judy stops by, helps clean Nick's apartment, and learns of a secret he's been hiding.

Summary
“He quivered, for he knew, in absolute terms, he craved Thad. He craved it all, wanting nothing more than to fill up this tiger-like specimen with bountiful ecstasy—and he scrutinized himself for it. How dare he want this decorated temple against his geriatric tomb.”

Summary
“Why did he tease, we may ask ourselves, questions raised and accusations readied like stones—but his tone slips by with ease. Natural, even. Had he done this before with any other girl? Lila, perhaps—yet only in wishful thinking, where all hope perished. Hadn't the guts to commit. Why now.”

"He found a rather disturbing pattern emerged. His many complaints and gripes about his exes often came with a comparison to Judy. His gaze drifted to the doorway, where he could see into her room. They held no secrets; their bedroom doors were rarely closed.
Wouldn’t it be nice, he thought, if they were together. Things would be so much simpler. If there was one thing he knew for certain, she was the one close relationship he hadn’t managed to blow up yet."

Summary
“She listens to that stupid 'love ya, partner' recording so often that I can practically predict when it's coming,” said Pronk. "Anytime she watches a rom-com, right before she goes to bed, immediately after she gets off the phone with you-”
“Nick doesn’t want to hear about all of that,” Judy interrupted. Her ears, now colored by a rapidly-darkening blush, fell flat against her back.
“No, I think I definitely do.”
In which Judy gets embarrassed by her neighbors, Nick gets introspective about his feelings, and they both take a few big steps towards defining the relationship.

“You’re the love recording guy!”
“Beg your pardon?”
“You’re the guy who says, ‘Luv ya, partner.’”
“…I didn’t realize that was public knowledge.”

Summary
Judy: "I thought you don’t go on this app anymore."
He barks out a silent laugh at not only the bluntness of her opening line, but also at the sheer absurdity of the whole situation. Quickly, his thumbs fly over the key-pad.
Nick: "And I thought you only swipe right on rabbits."
