It’d been a few weeks since Daniel’s first day at Camp Campbell. Max knew there was something off with the man, suspicious in a way that felt dangerous. The way he smiled too brightly, his hands lingered too long on campers’ shoulders, how he willingly listened to Gwen rant about her raunchy monster novels and worst of all? David loves him.
He noted all of this and went to convene with Nikki and Neil, telling them about the strange things he’d noticed. However, he was mostly alone on the matter. Neil and Nikki were split. Neil believed Max to a certain extent, but Nikki seemed pretty against it.
Max, unfortunately, wasn’t wrong.
