it travels down his throat like a bullet, searing scarlet onto his tongue. the harshness of the punch clashes with the music bubbling through the pink-tinted air, something soft and slow and romantic. still, the alcohol’s a welcome distraction as he peers out at the bodies swarming the hall, twisted in perfect pairs, the girls in their flowing gowns and the boys in their tuxedos. ricky tugs at the collar of his own suit, a painful reminder of the fact that he’d actually tried. he’d tried despite the fact that he hadn’t particularly wanted to come in the first place, and it hadn’t mattered in the end.
it’s valentine’s day and ricky has just been stood up.
after getting ghosted by his date, ricky's fully prepared to spend valentine's day alone. then he meets gyuvin.
