The idea of Riza and Roy together… It's almost unbelievable. Riza is so studious and organized, beautiful and sweet, and Roy is… Well. As much as Maes loves him, Roy Mustang is a goddamn mess. Handsome and intelligent, sure, though Maes isn't sure that those two qualities outweigh how much of a bastard Roy can be. The concept of him being able to keep any woman, let alone one of Riza's caliber, is outlandish.
Maes really does try to picture her tagging along, but the mental image of the Riza Hawkeye on the beach in a sundress, smiling and relaxing for once in her life- let alone with Roy- is impossible to conjure up.
“You think they’re dating?" He asks. "Him and Riza?"

"No, I- I liked it," Much to his surprise, Riza grabs at his shirt to keep him in place. Her voice is uncharacteristically quiet, almost shy in a way that he's not sure he's ever heard from her. "I like the idea," She pauses, looking around as if she's not sure if she should say whatever it is that she's thinking. Then comes the final nail in the coffin. "Of being yours."

Summary
The epiphany crashes into him all at once. His eyes widen as much as they can given the drowsy state that he's in, focusing on Riza, who sits calmly on the couch across from him with her gaze trained on a newspaper. If he were some stupid, naive thing, he wouldn't be able to put the pieces together at all. Her expression is even, not betraying so much of an ounce of what she's just done.
Drugged him. She's just drugged him; spiked his drink, placed it on his desktop with that perfect smile, and watched him down the entire thing with an impeccably straight face.
He should've realized the moment that she handed him the hot chocolate. It's sweet to the point of being cloying, thick, heavily spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, and drowned with a whipped cream topping and shavings of bittersweet chocolate, all to mask the chalky, bitter flavor of whatever she's dosed him with.
And to think it had gone down so smoothly.

"We shouldn't be doing this," Riza Hawkeye says, a gasp clawing up her throat as Roy Mustang drags her fitted bodysuit down her shoulders to suck hot, wanton hickeys into the creamy pale skin.
He already has her pinned to the wall, which is incredibly unfair, as the solid weight of his muscular body against hers seems to make her rational brain- the part of her that would have slapped or shot him the moment he put his hand on her thigh underneath the table- fizzle out to absolutely nothing. Instead, she is an unprecedented level of horny, the consequences of this having already sunk to the very back of her fuzzy mind.
Outside of this bathroom, in the bar where their coworkers are still waiting for them to return, music plays loud enough that Riza can feel it in the floor. She hates it, really, but it covers the noise of what's happening in this stall and gives her a reason to justify the way her heart is racing in her chest. It's not because of Roy. Obviously.
