Summary
Jack and Schlatt are together in New York during some ambiguous point in time, when, while drunk, Jack comes out to Schlatt as bigender. Schlatt does his research, trying his best to be supportive of his friend, but during this process, he starts using this new information to justify feelings he'd been denying due to his own internalized homophobia. It isn't gay to have a crush on Jack if he's part woman (or whatever), right?
Chapter number is an estimate, this may go on for longer than I expect. I will do my best to finish this.

A chance encounter at a party leaves Vincent entranced, but to his surprise, he isn't so different from one Alphonse Hart as he thought. Soon, he's obsessed, desperate to form a sort of partnership with the other. However unlikely a duo they are, they find a way to make it work.

“Zoidberg, when was the last time your people mated?” the professor asked, realization dawning on his face. The doctor’s body went still. “Oh, nothing to be ashamed of, old friend. We can’t help our biology,”
“What’s this about biology?” Hermes’ voice came from the doorway. “You two better not be cooking up any atomic monsters,”
“Oh, nothing of the sort, dear Hermes!” The professor assured him. “Zoidberg here has simply entered his period of mating frenzy!”
Zoidberg’s shoulders dropped and he buried his face in his claws. Hermes shifted uncomfortably behind him, then seemingly steeled himself and approached the pair. “I see,” he said thoughtfully, hesitating before placing a hand on Zoidberg’s back. “Is there anything the professor or I could do to help?”

Even with how entangled he’d find himself (consciously or unconsciously) in other peoples business, he didn’t altogether hate his ability. He was a scientist by nature, after all - forever wondering, forever curious - and to have a front row seat to a phenomenon so misunderstood, so unknown, so debated, was priceless.
It was his own red thread, though, that proved to be the biggest problem in his ability.
The most terrifying.
Because of all the red threads he’d ever seen, he’d never seen one like his.
He’d never seen one go all the way up into the air, entirely off of Earth altogether.
