Summary
We all know the story of The Wizard of Oz! Weather it’s from watching the 1939 MGM movie, reading the original book by L. F. Baum, or by other means. However, no one knows it quite like this.
18 year old Dorothy Gale lives in Kansas with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry during the Kansas Dustbowl of the 1930s. With the economic hardship of the Great Depression and and the impending threat of loosing their farm, Uncle Henry and Aunt Em find it wise to send Dorothy west to live on her own and find work. With the feeling of her world crashing down around her and a well-timed tornato, Dorothy is whisked away to The Land of Oz. While Oz is a beautiful land of plenty, there’s something dark and twisted hidden just beneath the colorful surface. With some help from her newfound friends, The Scarecrow, The Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, she makes her way to the Emerald City to see the Wizard of Oz.

Summary
When Bucky goes on a mission to Las Vegas with his team to intercept a mafioso working for a secret extremist group called “The Francescan Regime”, he doesn’t expect to meet and connect with one of the hotel workers, a young woman named Junia “June” Nicoletti. When June is taken by the regime and experimented on with a modified version of the super soldier serum, he now has to come face to face with a near mirror image of what he had been before. It’s up to him to help June figure out how to control her new powers, as well as train her how to keep her PTSD and intrusive thoughts at bay in order to prove she can be more than just an unfortunate accident.

Summary
Shadow Milk makes two terrible mistakes. Firstly, he keeps a nearly-dead child alive just to see the results of that choice. Secondly, he then receives another child and keeps it after a gamble. He's not one driven to caring, particularly, but there's not really anything else to call it; well, accidentally creating a "family" might work, if you stretch the meaning of the word. He'll never say that much, certainly. Black Sapphire learns from watching, Candy Apple is never taught. Despite it all, they care. How much that matters, well... it certainly won't, for a great many centuries. Three liars can't exactly communicate healthily, after all.

When Pure Vanilla throws open the balcony doors and holds his staff aloft, the first thing he sees are the tree’s branches devoid of his feathered friends. It’s an unwelcome sight, a clear departure from their usual routine. Had something happened? Has someone drawn them away?
A flutter of movement draws his eyes upwards towards the roof; instantly, relief floods through Pure Vanilla’s jam. The flock is mercifully still here, perched above his head on a nearby rooftop. They are, however, strangely silent and still, huddled closely together while glancing between Pure Vanilla and the tree. Pure Vanilla follows their nervous gaze, peering into the branches as he holds his staff high –
Only to spy a long, lithe form curled in the shadows.

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?
Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.
