Summary
The year is 2000 AD. The Rokubungi Expedition has just awakened the Giant of Light and initiated a catastrophic event that will come to be known as Second Impact. The expedition’s leader, Gendo Rokubungi, uses the last of his strength to send his son Shinji to safety in an escape pod.
Trapped in a state of stasis, Shinji Rokubungi re-examines his own life and the uncertain future and comes to an unexpected conclusion: if he makes it out alive, he wants a new, better life — as a girl.
Dredged out of the ocean, the girl that was Shinji finds herself in a slightly different world than the one she was just in.
