Summary
“Who are you talking to?” Sveta is looking with a raised eyebrow, at Ilya’s delighted face.
“Ah, I am talking to my catfish.”
“What do you mean, your catfish?” Ilya angles the phone so Sveta can see the shirtless picture on the screen.
“This guy is pretending to be Shane Hollander on Grindr. It’s pretty funny. He’s cropped the face out, but he’s using pictures from the billboard next to my apartment.”
Or: Ilya Rozanov is sure he's being catfished- why would the real Shane Hollander be on Grindr, talking to random university of Ottawa students? But the more he talks to Wayne, the more he starts to like him, and the more he wishes Wayne would just come clean so they can finally be together.

Summary
“I want to meet her.” he managed to say through the wave of emotion coursing through him.
“No.” Shane said, as if there was no possibility Ilya would ever get to meet his daughter.
“You don’t get to decide when I see my child.” Ilya said, trying desperately to keep his voice calm, not wanting to give Shane more reason to believe he was still the violent person he left seven years ago
“Yes I do. I am not going to let my child be collateral in the war you’re in with your brother like I was.”
“I am legit now. I promise. After you left I have spent the last seven years cleaning us up. We do nothing criminal. I have no connections to Alexei and Russia anymore. Just let me meet her.”
“No. Not until you prove it to me. I will not let any part of that life affect her.”
“Can you at least tell me her name”
“Her name is Masha. Well it’s Mariya, but we all call her Masha.”
Or Shane Hollander found out he was pregnant with Russian Mafia member Ilya Rozanov's child and ran away. Seven years later Ilya has broken off ties to his brother and found Shane and his daughter. He wants to meet her.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov notices Shane Hollander because he is wearing the wrong jersey.
That is the first offence.
The second is that he is beautiful.
The third, and most unforgivable, is that the name stretched across his back belongs to Eric Lowell.
What begins as a joke during warmups turns into a viral moment, an internet obsession, and the start of a rivalry neither Shane nor Ilya understands yet.
Shane already has a boyfriend.
Ilya already has a problem.
Neither of them realise how dangerous the difference between those two facts is going to become.
