Convinced their king has fallen back into gold-sickness and that Bilbo is in grave danger, the dwarves launch a dramatic rescue that bursts into the royal chambers at the worst possible moment, turning a carefully planned evening into a chaotic misunderstanding.

Locked away in Thranduil’s dungeon, Thorin cannot escape when the guards come down and piss on him, nor can he escape how his body reacts to it with intense arousal.
Sneaking around while invisible, Bilbo stumbles onto this scene and watches what Thorin does afterward, and formulates a plan for what he should do about it.

Glancing around the room he’d been led to, he marveled at the stonework and beautiful decorations of the room, even as the dwarf led him to a cot, and he sat down, wrapping the coat tighter around himself. It wasn’t hard to do, the thing was massive on him and he felt like he was drowning in fabric and fur. Altogether the most comfortable he’d been in years.
An older dwarf bustled into the room, setting things down on a table before coming over to look at him. “Right. What’s happening- they said you were found in the orc camp, eh little halfling?”
Bilbo bristled at the term, and the older dwarf tried to look him over, poking and prodding at him even as Bilbo tried to swat him away.
He didn’t want to be looked at, and he wasn’t half of anything!
Or: After destroying a pack of orcs, crown prince Thorin finds that they'd kept a hobbit slave, whose curse prevents him from speaking.
This is only the first mystery that this hobbit presents to him.

Bilbo is asked to leave the safety of the Shire to marry Thorin Oakenshield to create an alliance between the Shire and Erebor. As a bunny, he is beyond nervous to live with a mountain full of wolves, especially one with a lineage affected by gold. And Thorin is not too thrilled to be married to a bunny, but he won't complain about his luscious curves or his enticing scent. Hopefully they'll find their way to each other and help each other change for the better.
