Siren snorted. “No. I’m just here to order some food.”
“Wh-What about him?” The cashier asked, glancing at Tommy. “Did you- did you kidnap him?”
“I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).

Summary
An expansion on Dōngfāng Qīngcāng and Xiăo Lánhuā's relationship after her trials in the Yánnü sarcophagus. The 9 Bone-Devouring Spikes strike at midnight.
"Xiăo... Huāyāo... don't..." She waits with bated breath as Dōngfāng Qīngcāng forces out the words, his cracked voice burning with conviction, "Don't touch them. Don't..."
His words catch with a sharp, pained gasp, as he curls into himself once more. The sparks twinkle up his spine, aggregating with a vengeance.
Her silent sobs overcome her, and her tears fall like raindrops onto his skin. At this, Dōngfāng Qīngcāng seems to force his bloodshot eyes open, and they meet each others' gaze.
His emotions are laid bare on his face for her to see, as clear as day.
It's okay.

“Do you remember me?” There’s a gloating quality to this man’s voice, and Steven decidedly hates it. “Two years ago. Amsterdam. You ruined my entire operation in one night, but you made one mistake, Spector, you know that? You know what it was?”
“This is a rhetorical question, isn’t it?”
“It was fucking me—”
“Absolutely not,” Steven interrupts. “Marc’s standards are higher than that.”
His head gets snapped back for that, a swift punch to his jaw sending hot jolts of pain down his face. He is definitely going to bruise. It’s still kind of worth it.

It had been three weeks since everything had finally ended, and Layla still hadn’t gotten used to the half-conversations between Marc and Steven. Even with her understanding that this was an important development for them – this living as one, this acceptance of one another – she wasn’t sure what to think about it. It was going to take time, she knew, but she also knew that she wouldn’t be able to understand how to live with the both of them until she understood what brought them together in the first place.
In which Marc finally opens up, even the littlest bit, and finds it’s not as hard as he’d thought it would be.
