Summary
Shu seemed to catch on to Mika’s incessant staring by then—or maybe he refrained from commenting in an attempt to give the boy some grace—and turned to take hold of his hand and tug him closer. A small frown, not quite as harsh as a sincerely disappointed one, rested on his lips. “I'd appreciate if you came closer, Kagehira. Being left to myself like this feels no different than Paris.”
“Oh, uh… If ya don't mind, then…” Mika mumbled back dumbly in response, just barely shaking himself enough out of his reverie to respond coherently. He chewed on his lip nervously as he considered where to settle against Shu’s frame, and while sitting on his lap felt so very tempting, it was far too taboo to attempt. Gathering up his courage and scooting closer to Shu’s side, he placed his head snugly against his shoulder and splayed his legs over Shu’s oh-so tantalizing lap—only to yelp in pain as his knee hit something far too hard to be an erection. “Nnwaah–!?”

“ya wanted to talk?” mika prodded bashfully, his grin dampening a little as he considered that he may be in for a lengthy chewing-out. that possibility solidified itself a lot more as he watched shu bring that cardboard box back into view; he knew just what kind of earful he'd be in for once he saw him set the box down on the coffee table like it had a million maggots inside. “wait, i can explain—”
“please do.” shu continued to pinch at the bridge of his nose. his voice held a strange softness to it, like if he spoke any louder, his voice would crack in mortification. “for goodness’ sake, i found this parcel in the hands of the landlady. god knows what would've happened if i hadn't recognized your name on the label.”

“Am I such a lovely sight? You seem more interested in gaping at me than appreciating your surroundings.” Shu commented, crossing his legs and resting his hands on his lap as he returned Mika’s gaze. At the sight of Mika growing flustered over the question, he let out a triumphant huff, and poor Mika only found himself further captivated by his smug disposition.
“Ngaah… I can’t help wantin’ to look! Yer way too pretty to not stare, Oshi-san. I'd rather look at ya than anythin’ else here.”

“If yer gonna go, let me come with?”
A single soft-spoken sentence had no right to make Shu’s heart ache as much as it did then. Silly, sweet boy. I should be asking you that. Before he replied properly, he coughed into his elbow in a pitiful attempt to rid himself of his perverse tenderness, wondering if this was the same soreness Mika spoke of when he first moved away.
“Put your coat back on, then. We ought to hurry back before it turns dark.”
