Summary
He thanked his lucky stars, the metaphorical ones, not the ones spilling out of his lungs, that Jim hadn't realised Leonard held the same regard for the first officer that he did for the captain. Only, he thought, that wasn't entirely true. He saw the knowing glint in Jim's eyes too often when he and Spock got into their trifling little spats. Jim knew Leonard held the two of them in a similar regard. He just didn't understand the depths of that regard. And if Leonard had it his way, neither of them would ever know anything of those depths. Jim and Spock had each other, and they were happy, and as fucking miserable as he was about it sometimes, he was happy for them. They deserved each other. They’d be alright without him, eventually.
