Summary
“Chuuya.” Dazai says, in a way that makes Chuuya think Dazai has said his name once already.
“Dazai.” He responds. When he looks up, he accidentally focuses on Dazai’s mouth, the deep raw color of the bruise growing on his cheek. Chuuya blinks, rocks on his feet, looks away.
“I said did you kill them?” Dazai asks after a long pause. His voice is uncomfortably even.
Chuuya looks at Dazai and the violence in his eyes shakes him to his core. His stomach floods with want. His toes curl in his shoes.
Chuuya nods, a jerk of his head. His ribs ache. Dazai evaluates him.
“We need to go.” Dazai says.
I am afraid of the power you hold over me, Chuuya thinks and says—
“Yeah.”
Dazai steps on a body when they leave, eyes trained elsewhere. It makes a sound like ice cracking.
Dazai doesn’t look down.
The palms of Chuuya’s hands itch.

Summary
Dazai Osamu has devised the perfect plan to get the Akarukute Yokohama Senior High School administration to stop calling his adoptive fathers about his poor attendance: Get an in with the attendance office and get them to fudge his records. The staff member who runs the office, the legendarily vindictive Mr. Verlaine, is a lost cause. That’s not a problem though, because Dazai knows exactly how to circumvent him. All he needs to do is befriend his little brother, Nakahara Chuuya.
Chuuya, however—"I told you not to call me that, asshole!"—is intent on making that as difficult as possible.
Or, a silly little high school AU about two stupid teenage boys who show each other that there's more to life than their insular worlds where everything is hard and fall in love along the way.

Summary
It starts with Chuuya beginning to wear shirts to bed.
Dazai would not say that he is ashamed of his own scars—he hasn't been able to feel anything like shame in a long time. Still, he defers to them, sinking into his bandages and heavily-layered clothes and letting them swallow him whole. The thought of Chuuya living the same way? It makes him ache in a way he’s unfamiliar with.
So he devises a plan to ameliorate the issue before it has a chance to fester. The only thing is… he doesn't expect Chuuya to turn the tables back on him.

Summary
Dazai, freshly seventeen and filled with the hormones, finally hits his quintessential teenage crush era. There's only one problem with that: It's Dazai getting his first crush, so his impeccable logic leads him to the conclusion that these strange symptoms are in fact a result of his body finally deciding to take his suicide into its own hands.
The one where the ol' Port Mafia adage that the greatest misfortune of Dazai's enemies is that they're Dazai's enemies seems to also hold true for his crushes.

Summary
Uncle Phil stands in front of Tommy with an awkward smile plastered to his face. His hair is longer than Tommy remembers, pulled back in a short ponytail. There is several days worth of stubble covering his chin, and his eyes look tired. Not the sort of tired that someone acquires from days without sleep, but a deeper tiredness. A weariness of the soul.
Phil is wearing green scrubs as if he'd come to pick up Tommy directly after work. He drops Tommy's luggage down at his side before taking a good look at the boy.
Phil looks Tommy up and down like adults often do when they haven't seen a kid for years. His uncle recycles the same cheesy line everyone uses, “Wow, you've gotten so big, Toms. You're almost as tall as me.”
The old nickname sounds strange coming out of his uncle's mouth. The name belongs to a different time, a different decade. Using it now just feels… contrived.
OR
Tommy is sent to live with his relatives over summer break while his mom goes through rehab.
