She was there and he was here, but maybe…
Maybe leaving her on that tarmac, releasing her to a quest for solace and breaking his own heart in the process, had been for something.

Summary
A collection of my Tiva/Tivali fics that take place in Paris. Some I wrote prior to the spin-off, others acknowledge the events of the spin-off. None of them are inherently connected, though some details are my own head canons and bleed into everything.

Summary
Samira has a five-year plan: finish her residency, complete a fellowship, and continue her research into racial disparities in the ER. She wants to become the kind of doctor who wouldn’t miss the warning signs of a heart attack in a man like her father.
Samira and Jack have been seeing each other for almost a year, which is to say, they sleep together, know everything about one another, have keys to each other’s places, cook for each other, and Samira owns more of Jack’s clothes than her own.
But they’re not in a relationship. Samira refuses to be the resident who fell in love with an attending, and she won’t let anything distract her from her work.
There are no labels. It’s casual, it’s fun, it’s easy.
Right?

Summary
Jack didn’t go in much for praying anymore. No point, not when nobody upstairs seemed to give a shit either way. Praying was for altar boys and little kids and people who wanted their football team to win the Superbowl; for parents in his ER who refused medical care for their dying children in favor of speaking in tongues and yelling up the ladder to something that didn’t answer. Not for him. He believed in only a few things, and none of those were anything big enough to pray to.
Well, almost none. There’d been one thing. A person, really. Bigger than a person, though. More like a grand, orchestral concept, a hope half-divine, fifty-two percent of the reason he kept showing up to work for four years straight.

Summary
Some divides form quietly, without warning. Others hit like a fist. They leave no line, only impact.
It happened like that. Fast. One moment, it was just another day, just another conversation about plans, or the lack of them. The next, she woke up with a black eye and a bloody nose.

A story of resilience, intimacy, and the slow, luminous process of letting someone in, even when the world has tried to break you.Bookmarked by born30

Summary
His hand finds her shoulder. His voice takes on an impatient, warning tone: “Talk to me.”
“I think I’m having. An MI,” she tells the floor, jittery and uncertain. “My chest is so tight I can. Barely breathe.”
The grip— the grip on her lungs is squeezing like nothing she’s ever felt. Something is thrumming down her throat and under her rib bones like hot, rushing water.
-OR-
A whumpier version of Mohan’s panic attack where she ditches Joy and tries to die alone, quietly, in the staff locker room. Unfortunately (fortunately), Abbot finds her almost immediately.
