All Aang wants is to spend some quiet time alone with the love of his life—unfortunately she's gone off in the mountains past Republic City to find these flowers, leading Aang to make his day longer in hopes of bringing her home.

    Katara begins teaching him by running rivulets up and down Aang’s arrows, practicing how to draw streams. Aang teaches her to fly, teaches her what it’s like when your stomach flips in midair.

    “This is exhilarating!” she screams.

    “Eh, maybe.” He swerves leftward to avoid a patch of fog and he can feel her breathing hasten. “I dunno, I guess you could say it’s the best feeling. It’s freedom.” She’s so close. Her breaths brush against the back of his neck and Aang tries not to think too hard about that.

    In an alternate universe without war, where the air nomads survive, Aang meets Katara. He learns waterbending from her and teaches her how to fly on a glider. And, of course, he likes her from the moment they meet.
