“I’m sure there’s something I can do to make it up to you,” Mona murmurs into his ear in what she hopes is an alluring tone of voice.
Scaramouche freezes against her. She prepares to make a break for it.
“What are you implying,” He replies. His voice shakes a little at the end of the phrase and Mona finds that extremely gratifying.
“You know exactly what I’m implying.” It’s a stretch, but Scaramouche isn’t stupid and she’s sure she made her tone abundantly clear.
He inclines his head. “I do.” He pauses. “What makes you think I’ll accept your… proposition.”
Mona shrugs in response. “I have no reason to believe you will. I’m trying anyways, though.”
He still hasn’t moved from where he’s got her pressed up against the wall. She feels him take a deep, shuddering, breath, and then he moves his arm from her neck to tangle his fingers with hers.
Oh, shit. She didn’t think it would work.Mona snoops through her coworker's desk. She regrets it, and then she doesn't.

"Weak backhand?" Shane scoffs.
"Yes. Is okay, I will teach you. Maybe let you play center once or twice during season."
"That's not happening." Shane feels anger running under his skin, but relief as well, that the guy was just chirping his hockey skills. "Thanks for your generous offer, though."

Whatever he screamed to him was lost to Fugo as fell farther and farther away from the ship. It’s bright lights and half aflame stern blazing like a lighthouse far from his reach. He felt like a stone thrown into water, leaden with the weight of the wind and sky pressing down on him.
A sharp gust of wind sent him turning in midair until he faced the earth. Or what he thought was the earth since its dark hour made it match the sky he was hurtling through. The cities their own map of constellations spread out below him in a sickening parody of the stars above.
