Summary
War always comes at a terrible cost. It doesn’t matter what side of the battlefield you stand on. Both sides stare in the mirror and see heroes. Both stare through the chaos and see villains. We know our cause is the right one; that our enemy must fall so that justice will prevail.
The story of hero vs. villain is an old one and it has been retold and reshaped so many times– how villains rise, heroes resist, truth triumphs.
This is not that story. That story ended in 2029, with the final collapse of a large, white building on Pennsylvania Avenue. Once a symbol of the Great Experiment, it had been warped and twisted into a symbol of the end of the world and the deaths of over 6 billion people, sacrificed in an intricate grasp for power.Stories of heroes, villains, warriors, and victims always end with a new dawn rising and the promise of a new era. But they always miss a part of the story: What comes after? When the dust settles and there’s no one left to fight, there’s still a world and we still have to learn to live with it, no matter the price we paid. When your entire identity has been built around the heat of battle, how do you go on when the fire that fueled it goes out?
This is that story.

The title takes its name from the O.A.R. song. If you know it, you'll get it. If you don't, I highly recommend you listen to it, cause it rocks!
