Summary
There is a confounding piece of evidence among archaeo-theologists for their theory of societies, which they would love to ignore.
Their collective work was simply called the “Societal Theory of Development.” Its most striking component was that it could explain the differences and similarities between states and cultures of the present day without relying on conflicting accounts from unreliable deities, treating the appearance, mutation, and disappearances of people groups as the result of social factors, which are a result of economic factors, which are a result of not mythological, but geological factors. Because of this, the theory has earned the colloquial name “clay-shaped gods” to contrast from older beliefs that “gods shaped clay.”
One can imagine their frustration, when building a history of all peoples on the planet, that there is a romance found in every language, on every continent and skyland and burrow and ocean, told through cave paintings and magazines, in pseudo-deific¹ and theocratic societies, and even those for whom "romance" as a genre is alien, that implies the existence of an ur-deity.

Summary
Model minority? Depends, how much are you paying her?
After getting stuck in a new town with no friends and worse than no family for a whole summer, Nicole Yu finally gets to see her new school and try and meet new people, and immediately fucks it up. But that's fine. Nicole's fine. She's been through so much shit that she has no choice but to make it fine. Any interaction dodged is a reason to kill herself dodged. Any hostile intent assumed is hostile behavior avoided. Any bridge burnt is a path to ruin walled off. Any way she affects other isn't going to even matter after school. Her motto would be "no more shenanigans" if mottos and the word "shenanigans" didn't make her want to off herself.
But Nicole's a dumb fucking teenager, and dumb fucking teenagers tend to drag each other down, then get up and chase each other around just to do it again. And there just so happen to be some really dumb fucking teenagers affected by Nicole.
On indefinite hiatus.

Summary
As the Traveler's silhouette faded into the Sumeru night, leaving only the chirping of insects that permeated Pardis Dhyai surrounding her, Faruzan turned to head back to the greenhouse to check on Collei and Tighnari before taking her own leave. If it hadn't been for them, and their completely unrelated request, she would've never rediscovered Tamimi and released her final tears on the desert sands. She smiled faintly at how once again, her life seemed to be filled with unexpected and unrelated coincidences, a notion whose new dimensions a hundred years later she had mulled over amply. But it always took her back, back to the first unexpected coincidence, back to when that thought first struck her.

It takes six years clear of the hurricane of Winter Schnee for May to finally ask herself the question: "Did I want to love her, or did I want to be her?"
(Or: Academy-era Hellebore do feminization kink while aggressively refusing to examine why they, two very cisgender and heterosexual people, are so into it.)
