Pomni leans her head back a bit more. Jax had shifted back slightly staring down at her. His breath was stolen with one look.
The silence sits between them in a knowing way. All too well Jax can feel it.
Their tension is that air of something else they don’t want to name. How he doesn’t want to admit he has been staring down his roommate way too often at this point. Too much too noticeable his awareness calling him to pull away. Finally he does just that.

I just fully want angst upon angst then eventual happy ending.
So I chose to write it instead!

Grief comes at you in wavesOne day someone you were close with shared inside jokes with and even fought with disappears. Leaving nothing but an amalgamation of black static and colorful eyes that stare into nothing. No soul left behind those eyes.
That situation is currently Pomni's reality. Jax the stupid disrespectful (sexy) purple rabbit had abstracted. Of course Pomni reacted as one in that situation should react!
Grab a gun, chase down the scary amalgamation, get it to chase you, and trap it in a hall so bright your eyes burn.
Or
Jax will deabstract but you gonna have to deal with some plot to get there.
I wanted to show Pomni's five stages of grief and how she would handle Jax's abstraction compared to everyone. Same with deabstraction. Since, looking at it she is the one who got close with him. (Obviously there are others. But I'm a funnybunny die hard so ENJOY)

Whipping her head around she makes eye contact with Jax. Fucking. Jax. A big smirk is plastered on his face, eyes soaring over Pomni’s form and his smirk gets bigger. He’s leaned up against the wall on his left shoulder, a drink in his other hand as he sips it. Pomni who was still holding her drink in hand slows her moves. Her hands lift the cup up to her lips watching attentively how Jax responds.
Jax’s pupils dilate; he looks… hungry. Pomni holds eye contact still swaying to some melody, but the beat from her heartbeat in her ears sucks her out of it.
Jax takes another sip and she’s following his move. The tiniest little sip from her cup batting her eyes at him.
