Summary
Magnus Bane owns one of the most popular and sought after flower shops in Manhattan. His life didn't quite turn out the way he envisioned it, but at 30 years old he really couldn't wish for anything better. He lives a quiet life, spending all his time and energy on the love of his life - his shop. Everything is about to change though, and all because of a very tall dark and oh so very handsome stranger who walks into his shop and asks how to passive aggressively say "fuck you" in flowers.
Alec Lightwood is the crown prince of Idris. When his homophobic mother demands that he "grows out of this phase" and brings a suitable girl for his father's welcoming-dinner, Alec finds himself in a position where he needs to buy flowers to apologize for calling his mother out for said homophobia or risk her taking her anger out on everybody around the general vicinity of her(including himself and his sister) for lord know how long.
Well, who says you can't give your mother the middle finger when giving flowers, and receive a grateful hug in response?

He had the perfect plan, stay close to the warlock and make sure Camille had no more opportunity to play one of her ugly tricks; no one would get killed and they would all be happy...
But when the vampire bitch had to go and kidnap both Magnus and Simon, Alec had just about enough.And let's just say, he's not the only one who gets rightly pissed off when someone hurts the people he love.

He knew that Magnus was more than capable of taking care of himself, he was the High Warlock of Brooklyn after all, but that didn’t mean that he was comfortable with just letting his boyfriend put himself in harm’s way.

Magnus Bane had had countless of birthdays over the course of his life. His birthday had not been a special occasion to anybody for centuries though. When you were immortal, things like age just stopped mattering after a while.
As a child, Magnus would look forward to his birthday. He’d heard so many good things about them being celebrated in the mundane world and he couldn’t wait for someone to actually celebrate his birth rather than be horrified by it, as his mother had been since the day she’d found out what he was.
