Summary
Tony writes letters to his past loves to get over them. They’re all but meaningless by this point, but he keeps them hidden anyways, never to be seen or read by anyone else. Until one day they all mysteriously get sent out.
His deepest secrets are revealed and he scrambles to do damage control, striking a deal to enter a fake relationship with Steve Rogers who just wants his ex back. Tony conveniently forgets to mention that the only love letter he still means is the one he wrote to his fake boyfriend.

Summary
Somewhere in the multiverse, Pepper saves the world and pays the price. Tony lies in a coma, not expected to survive, and a grieving Steve Rogers is named as Morgan's legal guardian:
“Hey, Cap. You should probably have a seat for this one.” On the video, Tony took another sip of coffee. “You’re going to want to kill me. But sadly for you, if you’re watching this, things have gone wrong for my little family. Pepper and I are dead already. Vegetables. Whatever. You’ll have to hash out your feelings of impotent rage vis à vis me with your support group. Anyway, let me cut to the chase here: I’ve named you Morgan’s legal guardian. I’ll give you a second to pick your jaw up off the floor.”
Steve sank slowly to the bathroom tiles; Tony was right. He did need to sit down for this one.
“You over it? Good. Look, I should’ve asked you; Pepper thinks I did. And you know, I thought about it, but if I’d asked you, you might have said ‘no,’ and I couldn’t let you say ‘no,’ Cap. I just couldn’t. Pep and I don’t have a deep bench, okay? Our folks are dead, and when you’ve got no family, your options are limited. But you know that. And that is yet another reason I picked you.”

Summary
"Why does anybody come to Las Vegas?" Tony asks the owner of the gun pointed right between his eyes, and god, he's going to get so much shit about this later, from every single person currently listening in at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. "We're getting married."
The effect is immediate: silence falls at a speed Tony couldn't match even in the Iron Man suit, and every head in the hotel room jerks toward him. Several people go literally slack-jawed.
Including Steve, unfortunately, which doesn't do much for the credibility of a lie that needs all the help it can get.
