“Oh and you think you know better?” Nick grumbled, lightly knocking his shoulder into Charlie’s.
“I always know better!!!!!” Charlie answered back, not bothering to hide the smirking tone. They’d been trading jokes back and forth; he couldn’t remember what had set them off. Teasing Nick was one of his top ten—no, top five things to do. It might be his top G-rated thing to do with Nick, barely edging out napping together.
What he loved about it the most was just how much Nick gave back. Sure, Charlie was a bit wittier and sharper than his boyfriend, but Nick never backed down. And they both understood the banter was just that: banter. Extended foreplay, if Charlie really thought about it. Watching Nick huff at him or roll his eyes made something in Charlie’s gut do flip-flops. And when he annoyed Nick so much he got all feral? It was so hot, Charlie could barely stand it.
