Summary
“Didn’t you ever hear the story about Icarus, Kurusu-kun?” Akechi is placing his gun on the table and grabs his discarded mask from the floor to place next to the rest of his belongings. Nothing in his mannerisms even remotely indicate that they were just pressed harshly into the wall together. Akira hums.
“Get too close to the sun and you burn,” Akechi says low. Suddenly, his gaze is looking back over his shoulder right at Akira. Wine red nearly swallowed by the black of his pupils. Akira can only imagine how he looks in comparison.
“You implyin’ I’m playing with fire?” There’s a challenge in his voice, and finally, Akira pushes off the wall. His hands come into his pockets as he walks forward to Akechi, his eyes watching every movement. They’re playing a cat and mouse game, and neither of them will give.
“I’m saying you aren’t wise, yes.” A playful undertone comes through, and Akechi simply watches.

Summary
“Remember last month when you made me cook naked in nothing but an apron?” Akira cocks his eyebrows up and pushes himself further on the side of the counter. Goro looks at him unimpressed.
“Yes? What about it?” Akira doesn’t say anything. Instead, his gaze is leveled and his lips pout. His eyes flicker to the billiards table and back to Goro. Goro squints at him, calculating.
“You’re not serious.” He couldn’t honestly mean he wanted Goro to strip. Here of all places?
“What? Backin’ down from a challenge?” There’s such a smug aura coming from Akira that it makes Goro scoff.

Summary
Did he really think Riku wouldn’t notice that though? He shook his head and let his arms drop and he leaned away from Sora. In response, his eyes blinked away the anger and it quickly turned into familiar confusion.
“What?” And Riku couldn’t do this, couldn’t stand here and have this argument with Sora because he knew it was going to either get too loud or too awkward. He pulled away and began to head for the training area.
“Sora, you don’t believe that…” He walked and nearly cringed at how loud the door creaked in Yen Sid’s castle, but he continued towards the training area where he knew Aqua would be waiting for him. Riku didn’t look back to see Sora’s reaction.
Later, he would hear the nagging finally get to him that he really should have.
Or the AU where Sora learns why it's okay to do something not necessarily good and Riku comforts a Sora with nightmares and sickness.

Summary
Ventus was never someone who really broke out of his mold. He liked routines and strived when he had a stability. It was part of who he was, especially in his major field. His classes etched into him that students needed a consistent environment in order to thrive, because some of them lacked the simplicity of a normal life.
So when he stepped into the cool air of the tattoo shop, needless to say it wasn’t anything he was known for doing in the routine.
He was on a mission though. Ventus, while he loved and appreciated the daily bouts of his day to day life, felt a little trapped. He was feeling spontaneous and had to break the mold in some form or way. The realization that he craved something like that came in the form of someone else’s impulsive choice.
Or the AU where Ventus is needing a change from his life, and meets Vanitas as a result.

“You could just ask him out.” She brought the drink to her lips and sipped on it. Riku let his shoulders sag further.
“I’m not about to harass someone at work.” He stated dryly. Kairi’s drink began to make a noise to signal she was almost done with it.
“No? But you’ll waste your money and gas to go through the drive-thru to barely say hi.” Kairi hid her smirk behind her empty cup. It didn’t work cause when Riku lifted his face, he could see through it her upturned lips.
