Summary
Bilbo Baggins is the finest detective in all of the Shire, having solved every case he's worked on with kindness and compassion to the victims and the families thereof. He was greatly appreciated for his thoroughness and bravery- a rare trait among Hobbits.
However, kept secret where none would see, Bilbo kept his true feelings hidden in the shadows, drowned in alcohol and in shards on the floor. Seeing violence and death on the regular was not as easy to stomach as master Baggins made it seem. Now unable to keep the façade up, he has become cold and calculated instead, often inebriated while on the job.
While Bilbo had settled comfortably in his new way of living- much to the dismay of his greatest friend, Gandalf- his worst enemy shows himself yet again. And with it brings a new flame into his life... Whether this flame sparks a new hope for Bilbo, or turns into an uncontrollable wildfire, remains to be seen. -

Stede runs into some serious car trouble on his way to his Christmas cabin. He fears he'll have to camp out somewhere by the side of the road, when a handsome gentleman pulls over and offers him a ride. This event jumpstarts a whole new life for Stede. -

Summary
Stede's job as a bird conservationist isn't great; he isn't allowed to do anything fun for one. He chose this line of work to explore and help the environment, but is instead stuck working a desk job for a boss that clearly has it out for him, and a higher up that finds enjoyment in making his life a living hell. Writing letters to his penpal Ed is to him a lighthouse in a dark storm.
As the world famous Blackbird, Ed gets to travel across the globe, give speeches, and improve the world. But it isn't what it's cracked up to be, and more than anything he'd like to live a calm, domestic life. His only reason for staying in this line of work is his best friend and manager, Izzy Hands, who made Ed who he is today. Only his penpal Stede seems to get him. But does he truly know who Edward is?
Izzy knows deep down that what he's doing is wrong. He sees the hurt he's causing Edward, but refuses to look at it. With every day, every boring conference, every boring report, he sees Ed slowly crumble. But Izzy needs this more than anything, the security and the purpose it brings him he can't live without. Izzy is smart, he knows he can't outrun the truth forever. He knows he will have to face the fire, face his own trauma.
