    It’s hardly an answer. It means nothing. But Sebastian takes it as it is, and asks, “Because of what they could do for you?” Because his master is a selfish creature at heart, taking things by force when necessary, exploiting others, no matter how close to him they may be, for his own advantage.

    “No,” Ciel says, turning a scowl on the demon. “They’re my parents. They take- took care of me,” The boy says, stuttering once over the word before pressing on forcefully. 

    Sebastian doesn’t mention the misstep, instead reminding the boy, “I take care of you.”
