    Summary

Will Byers is in his bedroom. It is 10:34am. He is going to take a shower. He is not in the Upside Down. He is not possessed.

He tells himself these things like a mantra, as though they will bring back some semblance of sanity. His chest hurts. His lungs still do not work. He is used to it. It still hurts.

or: Will has a bad day, and Mike is a good friend.

    Summary

Jimin dragged a hand down his face. “I should’ve left twenty minutes ago.”

“And yet…” Jungkook gestured around the table. “Here you are.”

    “I’m babysitting.”

Jungkook looked at him, deadpan. “You’re doing a terrible job. I could wander off at any moment.”

    “Please do.”

    “But then you’d miss me.”

    “Not a chance.”

    Or:

Park Jimin runs a hidden apothecary in Gangnam, brewing tea and talismans and soft magic stitched from Busan seas. He doesn’t do love. The ocean took what he loved most and Jimin learned his lesson.

Enter Jeon Jungkook: his best friend’s infuriatingly handsome little brother, a tattoo artist who watches like he’s memorizing, laughs like gravity, and “flirts by accident” (which is absolutely on purpose).

One mislabeled jar—a hiccup hex, he swears—turns out to be a tethering spell that snaps tight between them, leaving Jimin feeling the brush of Jungkook’s emotions like tidewater against his ribs.

Between sharp-tongued banter, enchanted teas, and a knot bracelet that once kept a devastated boy alive, Jimin has to decide: break the spell and stay safely alone, or keep the link and risk falling in love with the boy on the other end of the line.

I don’t even know how to truly express how this fic made my soul feel. I came across this story a couple months ago and immediately knew it would be something that took attention and time to sift through the words. This story was an open tab and reminder on my phone for weeks. I was finishing up college, moving out, and waited until I had a quiet few days to finally begin reading. I don’t mean to sound flowery, but this story spoke to my soul. I grew up around sea water and the wind. Although there was grief mixed into the salt air in this story, it still felt homey. I love how flawed Jimin was in this, and how much love was shared between each character. I felt like I was there sharing the space with them

    Summary

Mike caps the cup and slides it across the pickup counter to Will, following it up with a wrapped straw and his wrapped lemon loaf immediately after. “Medium iced chai with oat milk and brown sugar syrup, and a lemon loaf for yellow flannel guy!”

Will grabs his straw, shooting a disapproving look at Mike as he carefully unwraps it. “Remind me to never wear this flannel in public again.” He grabs his drink, slipping his straw into it with steady hands.

“Nah, it looks nice on you. Don’t let me stop you, Just Will.” Mike is grinning so hard his face hurts. He’s more awake than he was previously, most of his exhaustion washing away throughout this interaction.

Will sighs, his cheeks going slightly red at Mike’s compliment, bringing his straw to his pink lips and taking a small sip. Mike watches Will’s gaze travel down to Mike’s chest, his eyes stopping on his name tag for only a second before they dip slightly lower. His lips quirk up into a small smile as he swallows his sip of chai. “I like your pin, by the way.”

    Or

Mike works at the on-campus coffee shop and Will really likes iced chais.

    Summary

    “You okay?” Mike asks him.

Will turns to look at Mike. The light of the TV is projected on the side of his face, bathing his skin in greens and oranges. Sometimes Will feels like the secret to digging himself out of the wreckage of his childhood is hidden in Mike. There are days when the only thing that can dull the sharp pressure of grief in his ribs is Mike’s presence at his side; steady, thrumming. Will knows the day when he will have to detach himself is coming fast, but here in this basement, where nothing has changed in over a decade, time seems to have come to a screeching halt. It’s just the two of them, sat in the last place they were innocent together.

    “Yeah,” Will whispers, “I’m okay.”
