Stiles is not pleased. He’s also starving.
(Or the one in which Derek has good intentions, but little understanding of how Dragon biology works. He just wants the cute mole-speckled kid to be safe).
-----“Five meals, Scott. Derek Hale has stopped me from eating five meals. I can’t believe he’s really trying to kill me over stealing his sword. That’s so petty of him. It isn’t like I meant to steal it,” Stiles complains.
“You kind of did mean to, dude,” Scott adds unhelpfully.
“But you don’t understand, Scott. It-”
“Just smelled so good? I know, you’ve said that like fifty times over the past two weeks,” Scott says.
“This is the equivalent of him stealing my lunch money, right? Thanks to him, I didn’t have a meal this week. Or last week! He’s a bully, is what he is. A nice smelling, douchebag of a bully.”

Talia Hale survives the Hale Fire, along with Laura, Derek, Peter, and Cora. It's been roughly ten years since the events of that night, and to say that it left scars would be an understatement. Desperate to bring her Pack back to its old strength, Talia will not stop pushing her children and brother to settle down and have kids of their own. For this year's Cold Moon, Peter finally brings someone home.
Stiles is not at all what Talia was expecting. He's far too young for Peter, he's human, and worst of all a man. (No biological children to carry on the Pack). He also doesn't give a shit what Talia says about him. His mere presence is enough to have her melting down, and it's bad for the simmering tension between her and the rest of the Pack. Unfortunately, everyone else likes him.
Derek might like him more than the rest. A little too much. Aw hell, he has a crush on his uncle's boyfriend. But maybe that's okay, because there is something off about Peter and Stiles that Derek just can't quite put his finger on.

Back in high school, everything about the supernatural had seemed edgy and romantic and exhilarating, but after seeing everything he has, wanting to go back to ignorance is only natural. Only then Derek comes back to Beacon Hills and says he's in love with him, and everything changes.

Stiles catches himself at the last minute and blinks hard, as if that might change the fact that, yes, the person sliding onto the stool next to him is Derek Hale. He’s more than back in Beacon Hills, he’s right at Stiles’ elbow. And fuck if the unbidden reaction to that doesn't feel like a return to high school: the palpable uptick in his pulse, the anxious desire to be funnier, louder, and brighter balanced with the feeling that he’s already the best version of himself when he’s got this man’s attention on him.
Derek is smiling, his kaleidoscope hazel eyes flitting intently over Stiles’ face in a searching examination of his features. Stiles can feel his mouth pulling into a wide grin. It’s Derek. Derek’s back.

There’s a solid wooden fence surrounding the backyard; a moderately-sized, flat piece of square land. Instead of grass, a flagstone path winds in between wild, tangled gardens, knock-out roses, towering crape myrtles, foxglove, bluebeard, hydrangea, overgrown ornamental grasses—weeds and wildflowers fill in all the spaces in between, and Stiles doesn’t plan on doing a single thing about any of them. The yard is fantastic. It’s wonderful. He can’t wait to strip out of his skin and make a burrow.

Viktor's mouth moves soundlessly for a moment, then gestures for a pencil and pad. Yuuri yanks his way through several drawers and finally finds a grocery list pad and an old charcoal. He throws them in Viktor's direction and shuffles into the kitchen to turn the kettle on. Viktor tugs on his sleeve eventually, like a timid child, and Yuuri turns to see what he's written.
