    LATEST CHAPTER (22):

    Kill It

Deirdre stops. Her body goes cold. She swallows hard and turns to Sceleritas, “Thank you. Is that all?”

“Yes, Milady.” He says, his demeanor not giving her any indication that he understands what the message really means, “Should I start a bath for you?”

“No, I can do it myself.” She stands, and turns to leave. The fiend moves to follow her, when his throat is met with a silver blade. Deirdre walks off as Sceleritas chokes and gasps, holding his spurting neck. She doesn’t look back as his boney body thuds against the stone. Whatever she felt before is replaced with a deep-seated dread, a reminder of her Father’s hand around her throat.

    Summary

The elven woman leans back against the instrument table, a troubled look on her face, “The letter was from a Banite. One who offered me help in reclaiming some old artifacts from the Hall of Wonders.” She looks up at Sceleritas, disgusted, “He also claimed Bane and… Father wanted an alliance.”

“And then you disemboweled him?” Sceleritas asks plainly, once again picking up the man’s head.

She hesitates, then states shamefully, “I panicked and ran.”

    Summary

As Enver Gortash returns home after a long gruelling day of enduring his passionate romance with one of his conquests, instead of finding respite he has his patience tested by his closest ally.

A companion piece to Indecent deceit. Takes place sometime during its events.

Then they paused, an unassuming letter caught between their fingers. Gortash felt the first throb of an oncoming headache.
“You’ve got another note from one of your admirers?” Their smile, bright with far too sharp teeth, was anything but innocent. “What’s this? Another paean to your ‘strong, burly arms’? Or perhaps the ‘ample, round buttocks’?”
Their gaze followed the scarce lines of text that Gortash knew covered the sheet of paper.
“Aww. And this one’s a poem,” the Dark Urge exclaimed, clearly delighted at the prospect of Gortash’s discomfort. Then, only one way remained — to not give them what they wanted.

    Summary

You had meant to deal with your newest problem. Just get it over with.

But a Banite could never make anything easy.

When you turned your eyes back to the man's face, you met two black pools of dense darkness. Bleary, unfocused.

You cursed yourself for your slip of attention and tightened your hold on the hilt of the blade, readying yourself to tackle him and take him down quickly enough. You had a feeling this Banite wouldn't go down so easily. Most certainly not without a fight.

But the Banite did not try to run. Did not buckle and kick you off.
