It's not a secret that Evil Jax is into being roughed up. And he does genuinely enjoy it, asks for it each time Evil Pomni takes the reigns. Believe it or not, she's usually the one that's the opposite. She'd die before she let anyone but him know that though.
That's always been their dynamic. And it's not that he's unhappy with it, he very much enjoys it.
But sometimes... sometimes EJ wonders what it'd feel like to be taken care of so gently. What about it appeals to her. Sometimes he thinks about asking to switch it up once in a blue moon, but he never does.
He's not usually insecure in their relationship, but what if pushing the dynamic they're used to is too much? What if he doesn't actually deserve to be treated in the same soft, devoted way he treats her? What if all he exists for is a thing to be used? He doesn't want to bring it up, actually.

Summary
It's the day after the "Escape the Circus Adventure", and the crew has already found themselves in a brand new out-of-house journey. Caine did them the favor of warping them there while they slept, and they’re about as pleased to see him as one would expect. But, just as they begin to tell him how they really feel, he vanishes right before their eyes. It seems like the usual antics of reaching the goal and returning to the circus from there, but the script gets flipped when they enter an entirely new adventure before they can finish the first. Without any word from or instructions left by Caine, it becomes up to them to figure out how to return to their digital home. What's more, as each day passes, the assets that make up the simulation begin to render in a bit more realistically.

Pomni stepped forward, pointing her gun at the rabbit.
Jax grinned, with dilated pupils and an unnaturally wide smile. It was unsettling.
“Fiiiiinally, you sure took your sweet time huh Pompom. Now get your evil on and pull that trigg-”
Pomni flipped the gun towards herself, eyes closing as Jax’s hand twitched forward, his smile starting to fall as he watched.
And she pulled the trigger.

**ENTIRELY EPISODE 9/THE LAST ACT SPOILER BASED, DO NOT READ PAST THIS PLEASE IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS**Pomni has been grieving for the past few months, having almost abstracted with Jax. She now has to deal with the grief of losing him while he is back, in front of her, and none the wiser about how much she knows about him and about how he saw them.
The remaining members try to navigate life with the prospect that they are now here forever, creating barriers between themselves and their outside personalities. Caine tries to figure out how far he can push his new ability of 'raising the dead', still reeling from losing the powers Abel had provided and attempting to quell his own ego while catering to the members as promised.

Jax is de-abstracted and extremely pathetic.
