Harry's heart clenched. "Darling?" He set his book aside, now devoting his attention wholly to the distressed soul. “What’s wrong?”
Louis’ mouth attempted to part in a response but before he could, however, the presence of tears rapidly glossing over his eyes provided an answer for him. Helplessly, he could only peer up at Harry, desperation etching its presence in the way his brows were drawn firmly together, along with the delicate flush of his cheeks and nose.
Or the one where a less than kind customer had paid a visit to the lovely corner cafe Louis works at, leaving said boy in a state of distressed tears and it’s up to Harry to mend his wilting heart.

Harry stood on his doorstep, waving a little as he shuffled his feet. “Hi, I brought you some cookies.”
Louis finally realized Harry was holding a plate with at least a dozen chocolate chip cookies.
“How’d you know chocolate chip was my favorite?”
Harry scrunched his nose. “I, uh, they’re actually peanut butter chocolate chunk, so I really hope you don’t have a peanut allergy. There’s a lot of peanut butter and chocolate in these. But also, I just hoped that was something you liked because I actually have a favor to ask?”
When Louis' alpha neighbor asks him to pretend to be his omega for a week, Louis immediately says no. He has too much he's dealing with on his own, and he swore to himself he'd never get that close to an alpha again. Unable to hold to that resolve once guilt sets in, Louis finds that maybe fumbling his way through a fake relationship for a week was exactly what he needed to finally be able to move on.

Summary
Louis never lets TJ see him cry, always making sure to put on a brave front for the little boy. Even when TJ cries that he wants his mama or daddy, even when Louis is barely holding it all together, he makes sure that he never shows it.
Louis knows the pain won’t go away anytime soon. He also knows holding on to all this is bound to burst out of him sooner or later, but for now, it works.
For now, it’s the only thing he can manage.
