Halloween night 1984, Omega!Steve stumbles soul sick and heart broken out of a party, the echo of ‘bullshit’ ringing through his mind, grief tripping up his steps and his scent fracturing in a hopeless cry for help.
No one except Alpha!Billy Hargrove is there to witness the former King of Hawkins High fall to his knees, crumpling from the pain of Nancy’s rejection.

A last minute planning change has the kids asking Steve to chaperone the school trip or they'll be bumped being the only freshmen. While it sounds like living hell, he agrees because well, he's lived through hell before. The kids left out a few small details, including having Eddie Munson as their roommate.
