Summary
Chance Effect will span the events of the Mass Effect Trilogy, and possibly beyond. It's presented with the assumption that the reader is familiar with the major characters and plot points of the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Story is mostly canon compliant (with minor fix-its), with many scenes and dialogue exchanges pulled straight from the game. Original scenes and storylines are contextualized with canon missions and world events.
Chapters will explore crew dynamic between plot points and fleshed out side-missions to enhance the Chance Effect narrative.
And finally- and most importantly- there's no Shepard without Vakarian.

Summary
Starting with events that occur pre-ME1, this series follows Garrus and Shepard as their relationship develops over the course of canon divergent events of the Mass Effect trilogy. The story begins when Shepard takes an opportunity to serve at the first human C-Sec detective following Torfan and extends beyond the events of ME3. Their fateful meeting was only the beginning, and their end is a long way off.

Summary
Commander Shepard is subject to sudden fame and recognition after her survival on Akuze. She's forced to take leave, and on the Citadel she discovers more questions than answers. Just as her scars begin to fade, Captain Anderson calls her on a mission that seems a lot bigger than he makes it out to be, and while she's fighting a battle with all the cards stacked against her she is also forced to reckon with her past, her mistakes, and her feelings.
"aut vincere aut mori" - either to conquer or die.
(Shepard/Garrus slow burn, friends to lovers, whatever you want to call it. The slowest of burns.)
