She has survived the city by keeping everything at a safe distance. Inheriting her grandmother's overgrown farm on Coral Island is supposed to be her final chapter. Her plan is simple: fix the house, tend the soil, and wait for the ancient curse branching beneath her skin to finally drag her under.
But the island has other plans.
Down in the dark, the dying reef is calling to her in broken Merakih. The deep water is demanding a sacrifice. A hostile merfolk stands guard at the borders of the submerged kingdom that once exiled her mother. And on the surface, the local marine biologist is desperately trying to pull her back to a world she was fully prepared to leave behind.

Summary
This story takes place immediately after Rey and Ben’s kiss. Ben doesn’t die though because I don’t want him to, and I refuse to accept he did.
Both Rey and Ben are extremely confused, by themselves, by each other. Will they be able to meld their feelings as well as their minds? A sudden journey finds them paired together in the face of danger once again.
