You obviously wouldn’t think so by looking at him, but Jason’s sensitive. One overly mean joke can hide and fester in his mind for days, until he has enough and asks Tim, point blank, what he meant by that, generally with a scowl and crossed arms. He reads into things, like the people around him—Tim, Dick, Bruce—have some kind of coded lenguage they use to show just how much they don’t want him around.

Summary
Stray jumped from the building and landed in a roll the way Catwoman had taught him before bounding back up to his feet and running. He heard Robin cursing behind him and let out a laugh, loud on purpose.
“Give it back, Stray!” Robin shouted as he chased Stray over the rooftops.
“Finder’s keepers!” Stray called over his shoulder, still laughing.
“Pickpocketing is not finder’s keepers!” Robin argued.
Stray jumped up on top of an AC unit and twisted to face Robin, holding his hands up. Robin stopped unexpectedly, his balance teetering for a second before he looked up at Stray, scowling. Stray raised his prize, something he’d nicked from Robin’s pocket without really looking at it first. He’d just taken it to annoy the other boy, wanting his attention more than anything. It started with a stupid game Tim and Kon played. Call it a byproduct of growing up as a generation of terminally-online children. The goal of the game is to send the weirdest, creepiest, or grossest things they can find on the internet and try to get the other to nope out because of how fucked up it is. Not like, anything illegal, just like normal fucked up.

Summary
Rain was common in Gotham, you could always count on a bout of rain in the city. In the summer it was a bit more spread thin but now it came with heavy humid air that clung to the lungs and the skin more than the rain itself. It could make one feel like they were suffocating, another familiar thing in a city like this, it did still drive people inside far more than the regular rain.
The civilians fled inside and even enough of the low lives of Gotham, which meant there wasn’t much need for her heroes to prowl the slippery roof tops to the ends of the nights. Not on nights like this and instead, the youngest of them found himself some place…different.
It was a place Bruce would be disappointed to find him but a place that Jason loved to be and could not wait for the older man that asked him to wait for him to arrive. Tim was the love of his life and this wouldn't be the last time Jason waited for Tim in his bed in such a provocative manner.

Jason takes a deep, pained breath. “...I want it back, Red.”
“I want a chance at us back,” He clarifies quietly, before adding, “I’m sorry.”
Tim’s mouth goes dry. He can hear his heartbeat.
“I’ve been moving on.” He croaks.
Jason’s green eyes pierce into him. “Please don’t.”
It’s so unfair.
“When you…” Tim tries. He lets context fill what he can’t say, gesturing to the scar on his chest before continuing, “It was all I had left that I hadn’t committed to Robin, the only thing I was holding onto that was silly and frivolous.”
Tim’s spiraling, repeating the phrases that fed his empty soul sparingly in his darkest moments, “It only weakened me. Now I’m focused on being the perfect soldier you always hated the idea of. I’ve been more focused with a higher rate of achievement and—”
Jason’s in his space, pushing up against him in seconds. The end of his tail smacks into Tim’s, prompting the latter to shiver out of his mental descent.
“You’ll never be a perfect soldier.” Jason hisses, “I won’t let you.”
AKA: A new criminal turns Tim into a mermaid and Jason comes to the rescue (after years of rejection and skinning Tim's soulmark off)
