Summary
Some would say that when Bilbo Baggins returned home from his scandalous adventure, that had been the news of the whole year in Hobbiton. The majority would beg your pardon and argue that the biggest news hadn't been of him returning from the dead, oh no, it was the fact that he was now married.
A little over a year has passed since they had settled into Bag End as their new home follwing the Battle of Five Armies. Their life was calm and they were both healing. Thorin couldn't have been more welcomed into the lives of Bagginses and Tooks and other numerous relations, for they had been most excited that their notorius bachelor of a relative had finally settled down. Bilbo found them vexing most of the time, but if they were able to put a smile on his husbands face then he would gladly bear the suffering. Especially now with the Yuletide celebrations looming in the horizon.
Becoming the new parents of a child would not really be that great of a challenge, now would it?

Some things never change, come hell or high water. Mimzy was a force that was comfortably familiar. In both life and death Alastor had a soft spot for her. She was his girl. The woman that saw him when no one else did and offered her arms as sanctuary. Confident, boisterous and a bit of a trouble maker, but still Alastor’s girl. And he had always been Mimzy’s man. The man she went to when she was in trouble. The man whose attention she wanted. The man who took care of her.
Alastor loved taking care of Mimzy.

What starts as aggressive encounters in Vox's control room evolves into something neither demon knows how to name. They're terrible at this, whatever this is, but in Hell, maybe being terrible together is better than being perfect alone. A story about two overlords who discover that the line between hatred and need is thinner than either wants to admit.

Summary
Vox has been trying to get an axe in the door of the adventurer's guild for years, but all the best jobs end up going to adventurers with more experience than him, but he's finally found a job. Eliminate the curse in Castle Carmine.
The only problem? Apparently, the job can't be done alone.
Enter Alastor. An egocentric half-elf here on his own mission, and whether he's seeking money or glory, Vox doesn't care. He's the partner Vox apparently needs for this job, and they're going to have to learn to work together if they want to unravel the mystery of this castle. At the very least, Vox figures the guy will be decent canon fodder if it comes down to it - if he doesn't throttle him for his attitude first.
As it turns out, there are some things you can't go through without at least becoming friends. Just friends, right? And watching your life flash before your eyes as you hang over a pit of spikes with only the hand of your unwilling travelling companion wrapped in the back of your shirt to keep you safe - well, that's one of those things.
Vox is pretty sure his heart's only beating so fast because of the whole nearly dying thing.

When Alastor makes an unfortunate mistake during his latest kill, he finds himself breaking into the city morgue in the middle of the night to cover his tracks. You can imagine his surprise when instead of finding his missing necklace he is met by Vincent, his self-described biggest fan. Alastor is disturbed by his devoted follower and makes a quick exit, but soon after they keep running into each other in little meet cute situations. Vincent thinks it’s fate, Alastor thinks it’s annoying. But when Alastor discovers Vincent’s own darker side, he realizes his initial assessment of his fan boy might have been a bit too hasty.
