And it knows you’d never lay a paw on another innocent being, no matter the circumstance. That’s how I’m so sure.”

Constant ridiculing, name-calling, and harassing, but the head of the group of rejects still stood strong, and he was asking to treat his ailments in exchange for an explanation on why things were so conflicting between them. Travis didn’t deserve it, and yet… Blue eyes were staring up at him expectantly, hopefully, beckoningly.

Summary
He didn’t like these thoughts. Dogday hated showing weakness, but when he allowed himself to think so deeply like this, he really struggled. One bad scenario fell on top of another one, and soon enough, he was drowning in awful hypotheticals. Thankfully, amazingly, Catnap was always there to bring him back up to the surface.

Dogday and Catnap live happily in Playcare with the rest of the Smiling Critters, and they help the staff take care of the orphans. Nothing bad has ever happened to them, and they love each other very much.

"Yeah, yeah – laugh all you want. I see you’re still making fun of us older people,” Eddie drawls out as he leans his arms on the roof of the car, lowering his head to look at him. The t-shirt underneath his leather jacket is riding up, showing a trail of dark hair disappearing beneath the jeans.
Steve’s not laughing anymore.
“See you, Munson,” Steve says, lifting his gaze a second too late; he knows Eddie has seen his eyes linger. Eddie pats the roof twice in goodbye and slams the door shut, sauntering towards the trailer.
“Was that just me, or...” Vickie whispers.
“Yep,” Robin interjects. “Could cut the tension with a fucking knife.”
Steve squeezes his eyes shut, groaning.
“Don’t start, Robin.”

With a shudder like a breath of relief, Touya's body starts to break apart before Shouto's eyes. He gasps loud enough the others turn to watch as parts of Touya's body catch with flame, others crumbling to ash. Within seconds, his entire body withers until something much smaller is left behind.
A little boy sits up.

He rubs his eyes, as they stare in shock.
“T-Touya.” Enji breathes.

For an unknown reason, when Touya flatlines in the hospital, instead of dying, he resets to his six year old self. Shouto has to figure out how to feel around a version of his brother who doesn't remember him.
