EXCERPT:
“You know, you’ll probably be out of a job soon too,” said Sam, not helping anything, “I heard as soon as the end of the year, prohibition will be a bust.”
Bucky laughed.
“Why’d you have to bring that up?”
“We’re opening up. I’m just saying. At least I’ve got investments in clubs, but don’t look to me as your sugar daddy if the work isn’t there,” laughed Sam, “You got to diversify your skills now while you can, Buck.”
“For your information, I’ll just be out of an under the table job. Could be transporting goods and services with a license,” said Bucky with a wink, “But enough about some loathsome void coupons and some takesy backsies, I’d rather focus on you.”
Sam couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
“Me, huh?” asked Sam playfully.
“I’ve been climbing the walls all week stuck in backs of speakeasies because your brother feels like I can’t do my job,” said Bucky, rolling his eyes, “Stuck with nothing to do with my time as I waited for our weekly appointment. I was practically cutting out paper dolls as I waited for tonight.”Series

“Here,” said Sam, holding out a dark garment bag. “Try this on.”

There was a hair.
One white hair. Poking out right next to his ear. Sam must have been looking at it for close to ten minutes before he heard his sister knocking on the bathroom door and asking, “Hey, Sam? Is everything okay in there?”
And, yes, Sam should be answering that. He should. He should talk through the door to his sister and assure her that he was alright. That nothing was wrong.
Because it wasn’t. Quite the opposite, actually.
Sam was thrilled.
Most people wouldn’t be excited about their first white hair. Sam understood that. But most people weren’t Sam Wilson. And seeing that hair poking out right next to his ear?
Sam had been waiting for this all his life.
Because that meant Sam was ready. He was finally ready. After a decade of training, that white hair finally appeared.
“I can apply to be a Santa,” said Sam finally, barely a whisper.

I am going to ignore the MCU's incapability to let Steve retire without the dramatics of ditching the current timeline for Peggy. So he has settled down with the first friend he'd made on his own, the most spectacular Sam Wilson. They are close as roommates should be and perhaps a tad closer still. Please enjoy this work that was yet again influenced by the magic that is the MYSU Discord server. Shout-out as well to the very "friendly" way the ship was written back in the day. If I find out how to link to the comic panel responsible for this, I will definitely share.

“Dinner? A movie? A remote cabin that could double as both a romantic getaway and a murder cabin?” said Sam as he watched Bucky blush redder than anyone Sam’s ever seen, “You did say you owe me four dates.”
“I wouldn’t count this as our first date,” mumbled Bucky as he walked over to the old film projector, “I’ll make sure we’ll go on a much better date than this.”

Sam wasn’t sure why that was the first thing he saw, but his eyes just went to the abs. Just. There. Pristine. Sculpted. What monster with this good of a body would walk around the Avengers' Campus gym like this? Not that everyone around Sam wasn’t particularly swol now, which was… a lot, but Sam just couldn’t stop looking at this shirtless man’s abs.
Sam flailed as he noticed the abs turning to him, the smile beaming on Shangqi’s face when he realized Sam was looking his way.
“Sam!” Shangqi yelled, stumbling to get upright, wincing as he stubbed his toe on a workout machine near the one he was just using, “I didn’t notice you come in.”
“It’s fine,” said Sam, fumbling his words as the sweaty handsome man clumsily made his way to Sam, “Really. I just walked in.”
“Hey,” breathed Shangqi, low and doing something to Sam.

"He has clothes. This tiny man... has tiny leaf clothes."
Sam's vision focused as he turned his gaze to the low rumble of that voice.
He was... a bit scruffy. He kind of looked like he needed a shower. He needed to at least do some maintenance with that fuzz on his face so that it didn't look too uneven. One sleeve of his shirt was sewn short and closed. He was wearing what had to be a "baby's first garden" outfit, because it was the most stereotypical farmer outfit, down to the straw hat.
But he seemed cute. And he was holding Sam so gingerly. And he looked at Sam worriedly as if he was hoping he didn't hurt Sam. Sam almost laughed at that. The idea a human would think they could know how to physically hurt Sam, even in this tiny form. It was adorable.
"I guess you'll do," said Sam, and he smiled at how confused and a little offended the guy holding him looked.
