Sukuna’s grip on him tightens, without a response for a few minutes, before he sighs. He bows his head forward, resting on Yuuji’s shoulder and pulling them even closer, if that was possible.
“All the time. But they wouldn’t let me go that easily and… I can’t live without you.”
His voice is soft, a bit shaky. Nevertheless, when he raises his head again, cerulean meeting gold, his gaze is full of conviction and determination. Maybe it would be more accurate to say possessiveness, really.
“I can’t live without you. Even if only you leaving made your life better, I would keep you chained by my side. We were born together, we have to live and die together too.”
Yuuji’s breath catches, unable to look away. In the light of the dying sun, the powdery blue gives way to a deep, swirling mass of dark churning waters, the frigidness of it making Yuuji shiver.
Without a word, Yuuji tilts his head just enough to gently kiss the side of Sukuna's mouth, more a brushing of lips.

Summary
Before he can even take the necessary time to organize his thoughts, maybe even form a game plan, the door swings open without him moving an inch. He looks up, surprised.
“Oh! ...Hey dad.”
His father in question, Ryomen, grunts and grabs his wrist, dragging him in.
“What, were you just gonna wait out there all day?”
He gets pushed onto the couch right in between his brother Sukuna and cousin Megkuna, his dad all but ripping the bag off his shoulders. Yuuji’s accepted it as his own little brand of crude acts of service for his youngest (and favorite) son.
His brother wastes no time pulling him close, sighing as he tucks his face in Yuuji’s neck.
“What took so long, brat? I missed you today, hated being around this idiot.”
Megkuna scowls, pulling Yuuji towards him roughly.
“Do you have to hog him? And it’s not like I like being around you either, fucking loser.”
Or which, Yuuji has three problems to deal with

Dennis pauses for a fraction of a second before continuing. The needle finds its mark, precise and practised.
"Tell him what?"
"You know what."
"I genuinely don't." He reaches for the needle driver. "Robby's on until eight. If it's something that needs saying before then you can page him yourself, I'm not your-"
"Dennis."
Something in the sound of his voice makes him look up.
Abbot is watching him with an expression he doesn't immediately have a name for. The dry amusement is gone. So is the steady, unshockable competence he'd worn all through that night on the abandoned floor above, in a room much darker than this one. What's there instead is observant. Patient. Careful.
"Tell him what?" Dennis asks again, slower this time.
"You're carrying." Abbot says it plainly, without ornament, the way he delivers every difficult thing. A statement of fact, instead of a verdict. "Three weeks. Maybe a touch less."
Three weeks after the catastrophic breakthrough of an unexpected heat Dennis has to face the consequences.

“I’m—“ he took in a wheezy breath, throat gradually clearing of the offending hoppy suds now sprayed out on the table in front of him. “I’m okay— I’m okay Robby. Sorry I didn’t mean to- I mean— it’s not like I’m—“
“Nice hat, Huckleberry.” Fuck, Trinity. The comfort of being saved of an explanation was quickly replaced with a white hot embarrassment at the reminder of the teasing grin that was still plastered on his roommate's face. His teary eyes met hers as she leaned in close to his ear, picking up Dennis’s hat in one smooth motion and placing it on her own head. “Didn’t know you were in the business of saving horses.”
