According to ancient tradition, the eldest Omega offspring must be wed to a hybrid of a different species. Upon their eighteenth birthday, a grand ball is held, where the reigning King chooses which suitors are invited back to the palace. These chosen few remain, allowing the Omega to get to know them and eventually decide who they wish to spend the rest of their life with.
Jeongguk was the only descendant with the Omega status. To honor tradition, the ball was organized and the candidates were summoned. However, unlike the Omegas before him, Jeongguk was given no choice—the King intended for him to pick the specific Alpha that he preferred.
