Summary
Trinity gazes up at the warm orange sky above, the light of the evening sun reflecting off the scattered clouds, different wavelengths of colour bleeding through like brushstrokes on a canvas. Knees tucked to her chest, looking beyond the towering buildings of the cityscape, her eyes track a small flock of birds soaring up above, their wings carrying them along the gentle afternoon breeze, untethered by gravity.
Birds fly over the rainbow, she thinks, why then, oh why, can't I?

Summary
Tonight, Trinity's goal is to be blissfully unaware of everything, to forget all the pain and grief currently haunting her every waking moment. She will sober up for the funerals in a couple of days (Tank's name no doubt added to the list by then, the painful thought stabs into her mind), but until then, she doesn't want to feel a thing.
"Another, please," she says to the bartender, who nods obligingly.
She doesn’t notice Neo watching her silently, his gaze a mixture of shock and concern.
