Note: the intended issues/illnesses, while fully up to reader interpretation and not necessarily comprehensive, go as follows:
Jamil: perfectionism (not always a mental ilness, but in jamils case? ...yeah), anxiety, anger issues, general emotional incompetence despite intellect, parentification, control issues, probably some mild GI issues due to being a poison tester (though it could be explained by his general chronic stress) (high cortisol jamil), inferiority complex that has conversely created a symbiotic superiority complex
Kalim: ADHD, dyslexia, c-ptsd, possible age regression? (Kinda just how he is, but he defaults to cutsy childhood aspects when stressed), neuropathy caused by SA/poisoning, general complications common with CSA, also mild ocd?, purity complex, sacrificial lamb complex? (Is that a thing? He knows he's a sacrifice deep down), GI issues (not going into all of those complications tho, mainly because I don't think people would want to read it)

Summary
As far as society at large is concerned, he's already Kalim's bitch, and surrendering himself to both of their instincts would make it true. Like this, instead, he can hold on to the knowledge that when people see the alpha heir making eyes at his omega attendant, whatever they're assuming, they're wrong. Even if the two of them are the only ones who know, and even if Jamil is the only one who cares, those people are wrong.

Summary
It's Jamil's day off! For about two weeks, they've had a deal going - Kalim gets two days out of the week to be independent, and if he can manage that, maybe Jamil will consider letting him do more stuff by himself! Unfortunately, his body decides to have a flare up at the worst possible time, and he fails miserably at managing the previously mentioned independence...
He's going to lose this privilege, he's sure. Every time he tries to make Jamil's life easier, he fails.
He doesn't deserve autonomy. He doesn't know how to use it. He's no better than a pretty piece of china on a shelf - never to be used, only looked at.
