He sucked in a breath, holding back salty, unshed tears. He closed his eyes. Inhaling. Easier to blame the wind than to face the truth. With that exhale came a final thought.

No matter how hard he tries, he is never enough to protect others. He’s never serious. He arrives too late. He can’t control his powers enough to protect the ones he loves. He’s always been the weak link.
Wojira is rising.
As the ninja race to stop Wojira, everyone on the team must step up. Otherwise, Ninjago will fall. Jay holds his family close to his heart. Just like his lightning. Maybe it’s time for him to finally let go.

While Lloyd struggles with new senses, Jay recovers his memories, Kai has to confront his trauma from the Lands of Monster, Nya turns into a sneaky little menace and Zane worries about everyone. Cole compiles all of it over the weeks.
Why are Kai and Nya hissing at each other like feral cats? Why is Jay slow-blinking at him and why is Zane growling at him? And wait— is Lloyd purring??
In the end, they’re not really cats.
They are legendary ninjas who have saved Ninjago and the merged realms more times than anyone can count. They can totally handle this.
Spoiler: They really can’t.

Summary
During the final assault on the Golden Master, the Ninja and the Serpentine all escort everyone to the safety of the underground bunker as Zane sacrifices himself to save all his friends. However, one ninja didn't make it into the bunker on time before the lid froze shut.
Jay Walker woke up... somewhere. Wherever it was, it certainly wasn't Ninjago, Jay found himself stranded in a realm he never even knew the existence of. Left to his own devices, Jay had no choice but to survive in this new world until he could hopefully find a way home. Unfortunately for him, life didn't see it the same way, and Jay was stuck in this new realm for over a decade, until a strange cataclysmic storm merged all the realms into one. Jay partially loses his memories in the event, but it's not like it matters much to his already hardened heart, so when Ras offers more strength and power in return for his service, Jay accepts without much hesitation, only to find out he will be facing the people he barely even remembers.
What will Jay do when he finally meets his long lost team, a team he hasn't seen in over a decade? And how will the Ninja react when their long assumed dead friend is found again, but in a way they never expected?

“I could call the others”, Jay reflected for a moment, for the first time in the whole situation. He could shout and they'd come running immediately, he believed. Or maybe they'd think he was overreacting and give him enough time to handle it on his own. Maybe he could. He already longed to step forward, even if it was just to see what this was all about, if this was really happening and not just some kind of dream after the blow to the head.
“It’ll just be a glimpse", Jay told himself, without much conviction. The temptation, the curiosity, something bigger than himself that tingled through his body, were more overwhelming.
He didn't know why he was doing this.

But suddenly, during the battle with Thunderfang, he is sent into a coma and wakes up unaware of everything that happened after the Merge, and somehow all his memories from before flood back. Now, he is unaware that his goodness is shattered, unaware of every horrible thing he did. The ninja have to decide what to do when it is unclear whether Jay is back to normal, or still this "Rogue" they've known. Can they outrun what Jay became? Will the ninja tell him the truth, or pretend that everything is normal? And if the truth slips out, will it drive them apart?
Or maybe, the ninja just have to learn to accept him for who he is.

Summary
Everyone in this Monastery had had years to adapt to the change, to get used to it, to start living it. Jay had mere months, and those months had been spent trapped in his room. He hadn’t been gradually introduced to these changes, he hadn’t experienced things changing one by one.. He was thrown in at the deep end and he couldn’t swim. Instead, he was just a weight sinking right to the bottom.
And he sure felt like he was drowning.

Months after getting his memories back, Jay is struggling to cope. Trying to act like things were normal, that they could be normal again, seemed to be his only way of keeping sane. Or so he thought..
