It wasn't like you were stupid. No, you dotted your i's and crossed your t's and did all the shit that a citizen of a shit hole like Gotham City did. You carried a taser, kept out of alleys, travelled with a companion.
And it had kept you (relatively) untraumatized for the entirety of the 21 years of your existence. Sure, you'd seen some gruesome things, but that was normal. You weren't the type that made a stupid decision and got screwed over. You were smart.
Of course, that flew out the window with the goddamn Red Hood of all people. You had to be stupid with him.

Being dead has some perks. No bathroom usage, no hangovers, your skin is always the exact same. Of course, there's the minor cons. Like the fact that you can't redecorate because you're incorporeal most the time, or that your name is off your lease, you can't change your clothes, or that your soul is tied to a damn bathtub.
Less minor, of course, is your new roommate, who apparently only wears three colors, is hella grumpy, and, oh yeah, can see you. Great.
