Summary
Zoro, in hindsight, should have anticipated such occurrences when he agreed to join Luffy's crew, especially when an unbonded omega and alpha traverse the seas together in a small, makeshift boat—hardly a ship bound for the nearest town. So, it shouldn't have been a shock when a particular unexpected rut, spurred by their close quarters, prompted his captain to bite into his scent glands, sealing their bond as mates.
Or
The cost of loyalty takes on a heightened significance when the crew's first mate also fulfills the role of the captain's omega.

“I wanted to do something nice.” Dennis replies, meagre. “Start the day well. For you and Robby.”
“Well, that went well.” Jack scoffs, not even looking at Dennis.
Dennis curls into himself even more. “I’m sorry.”
“Whatever, just leave it to us next time kid.”-
Or sleep deprived Jack tells Dennis off, Robby doesn't help, but they get their shit together eventually

He knew his blood sugar was starting to drop, could feel the beginning signs of fatigue, irritability, and a subtle shakiness, and he couldn’t ignore the text from Michael telling him to eat something.

Zoro regarded the human carefully, “what’s your name?”
The mortal's grin turned blinding, “Monkey D. Luffy! What’s yours?”
The god hesitated. “Roronoa Zoro.”
The mortal's eyes practically sparkled, “nice to meet you! This means we're friends right?”
Zoro shook his head, “no, i never said-”
Luffy sprung up, ignoring his denials, “Yosh! I finally have a friend!” he cheered.
