Respect, better money, fame, and for Ilya Rozanov: the power to ban your teammates from playing shitty songs in your presence, or even banning them from playing songs that remind you of your decade from situationship, who suddenly ended things and replaced you with a movie star girlfriend.
A social media fic in which Ilya goes from occasionally banning songs to banning just about every breakup song in existence, and the internet starts to really worry about his well-being.

He sighed again. “Come on Hollander, keep it together." he murmured, pinching his temple.
“Wanna pat on the shoulder too?” A mocking, russian accented voice cut in.
“Excuse me?” Shane turned. Annoyed and a little embarrassed because he didn’t hear anyone coming in. “What?”
He met with a smirk and a pair of playful blue eyes. The man leaned on the sink. “You looked like…” he gestured with his hands. “Hyping yourself.”
Fuck, fuck, fuck it was him.
Shane was an Alpha with no interest in Omegas of any gender. He didn't found them tempting like his friends, their sweet smell was just... sweet. So he refused invitations to parties, clubs and mixers that included him being with anyone, he hid his smell with patches to avoid offending people when they approached too.
Shane hid himself deep enough to go unnoticed and he was content with it until a pair of blue eyes landed on him, observing, tempting and wanting. He was so fucked.

He was done with messing around, done with letting people down, done with indulgences that he couldn’t afford. The path before him was clear; all he had to do was walk it.
(This, he would acknowledge later, was the biggest lie of all.)
OR: Shane learned how to lie with his words and stillness. Unfortunately his body speaks a language of its own, and it's one Ilya Rozanov never needed a translator for. As Rozanov lets Shane get away with anything except lying to him, this causes problems until it solves them.

But of course his closest brother is a crime lord/vigilante who died and came back to life and has cut contact with the rest of the family, and of course his adopted father is the Batman!Jason sees Percy, back from the dead, with a white streak, green eyes, and a new air of darkness to him, and he knows exactly how their family will react after all Jason's done. He knows he's the only one that can really help his brother.
(Or, basically, me re-writing the og version I wrote, getting distracted by shiny new ideas, and turning it into a more angsty fic.)

Summary
Rose volunteers for a nonprofit that rescues sex-trafficked omegas, and Shane thinks it's a great cause. He even attends their fundraising galas.
Then, one night, Rose calls to ask for a favor: She wants Shane to let a recently-rescued male omega live with him. In his apartment.
His name is Ilya, Rose explains, and the thing is, despite omega hormone levels, he acts and smells just like an alpha. He can't keep staying in an omega group home because he's scaring the other omegas and endangering the staff.
But he could live with Shane, Rose insists. "You're a big strong alpha hockey player, so he can't intimidate you physically. But also he needs to feel safe, which he can with you, because you're not like other alphas." She pauses. "You know?"
By which she means Shane has never had a full rut, his scent glands barely work, he can't form a knot, and he has no interest in sticking his dick in anyone. Which, whatever. It's fine.
But if being a failure as an alpha means he can help this omega, Ilya, who's apparently as much of a biological anomaly as Shane is…
Shane says yes.

He exercises regularly to keep himself fit and strong, fuels it with the best food and nutrients he can, does his best to listen to the cues his body gives him to rest. It’s a careful balancing act as a professional athlete, stretching his body to its limits while also caring for it deeply.
Still, he can’t deny that he feels let down by it often.
Some days it feels very unfair.
And then some days something even worse happens and that already strained relationship he has with his own body gets even worse.
