Summary
Gideon Nav is the communications officer aboard the HMNZS Alecto, a station on a deep space survey mission. In the wake of an attempted mutiny, she’s formed a tentative truce with her commanding officer, Harrowhark Nonagesimus, but their station is falling apart and their mission objectives have never been less clear.
The sudden reappearance of the Alecto’s former commanding officer promises answers, but only if they can trust her. By all accounts, Camilla Hect should be dead — and Gideon and Harrow quickly discover this is the least of their concerns.
