Summary
What if Jesus had ended up at Woodbury instead of the Hilltop? What if he met the group at the prison in season 3?
__
Paul rounded the corner to the row of cells leading to the one he’d been locked in, only to find Daryl there, in the middle of the walkway, staring at the spot Paul was supposed to be. Paul stopped and took a bite out of the cookie in his hand. It was sweet and horribly stale. Hard as a rock, it crunched loudly when it broke under the force of his teeth.
Daryl’s head whipped around and their eyes locked. Paul watched in fascination as Daryl’s expression slipped quickly from surprise to anger, his face flushing red all the way down his neck. Paul took another almost painful bite of the cookie, crunching noisily while he chewed.
“The hell’re you doin’?”
“You didn’t leave me any food. I was hungry,” Paul said, raising what remained of the cookie in explanation. “I was coming back like a good prisoner.”
“Good prisoners don’t go walkin’ around the prison stealin’ shit.”
Paul hummed in thought. “I suppose it depends on how you define a good prisoner, doesn’t it?”

Summary
Out on a scouting mission, Aaron and Daryl discover a new community. Lured in with the hopes of making new alliances and trading for enough food to keep their people alive through the coming winter, they soon learn this community has many connections that they keep in check through the institution of an old custom. Facing the prospect of a forced marriage to a stranger neither of them wants, Aaron and Daryl wind up pretending to already be wed... to one another.
With the threat of repercussions hanging over their head if they're caught in a lie, can they keep the ruse alive long enough to reach Rick and have him smooth things over? Can they stop it all from crumbling around them when an entire delegation from the Hilltop escorts them back to Alexandria to arrange a wedding, only to be greeted by an unknowing Eric and the all-too-shrewd eyes of Jesus that Daryl can't seem to shake and the stranger somehow worms his way beneath Daryl's skin.

Summary
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time leads Daryl to being the impromptu rescuer of some kittens. It's after midnight, but luckily there's an after-hours on-call vet to help.
--
“You look like you jumped in after them.”
Daryl grunted looking up at the vet. Paul was still focused on the kitten in his hands, checking it over before setting it carefully onto a padded mat. Daryl’s brown knitted together.
“Someone threw ‘em off a damn bridge. What was I gonna do, just walk away? Let ‘em drown? ‘S a shit way to die.”
Paul did look at him then, his eyes piercing blue and indecipherable. “I just meant you’re wet. There are towels in the cupboard behind you, far left, if you want to dry off.”

Summary
A quiet winter's night, years after things have settled into the new world, Jesus and Daryl take their time, living the life they chose.
____The forest extended, dense and endless all around, offering them shelter for more than a decade now. By its grace, they still had a couple more left to offer, Paul thought, and when the time would come they’d return everything back, seep into the ground, allow nature to continue its course.
He never wondered when or how it would happen, never wondered if family or complete strangers would find their remains. But he hoped, when the time came, that it made no difference, because they would have left behind a place that told their story. That pieces of Daryl would linger long after they’re gone, that they’d find Paul’s threaded alongside his. That, much like the first time they’d found the cabin, whoever was going to step over its threshold, whoever was going to climb up to the very top of its watchtower, would be able to tell, without a doubt, that there had been love here once. That there had been devotion and care, that there had been hardship and effort, that they would be looking upon the remnants of a life worth living.

Summary
“And it didn’t bother you that the guard thought you were -- that we were -- ?” Nicolò asks, for what is definitely the fourth time, as they bed down, hopefully hidden from view by the reeds and trees of the Nile delta.
Yusuf sighs, rolling onto his back. “Do I mind that he thought I would be foolish enough to abandon all reason and take up with one of the men who helped sack Al-Quds? Yes, a little. Not enough to stop from using it as a perfectly serviceable escape route.”
“No,” Nicolò says, “I mean, that you would prefer the company of other men at all.”
Yusuf blinks, bemused. He hadn’t even thought of that. “As a rule, I try not to be insulted by accusations that are true,” he says drily.

The absolute fav where they're a fake couple throughout time as they travel together until finally it's real. Perfection in a single fic.

Summary
“I’m glad I came back while you’re still here," Jesus said, "I’ve been wanting to talk to you.” He rubbed the back of his neck, looking uncharacteristically nervous.
“Yeah?” Aaron asked, warily. “What about?”
Jesus made that nervous neck rub before going back to standing with his arms folded across his chest. “I know…well I’m guessing…you’ve gotten some of the same comments from the straights that I’ve been getting, right?
Aaron made a face, “Are you talking about people who are trying to pair up the last two gay men on earth?”
Jesus nodded, “That’s exactly what I’m talking about."
