Pomni has a problem.
The Amazing Digital Circus has been raided by a new and advanced version of Generative AI that promises a wider, expanded world, a connection to other digital platforms across the Internet, and maybe, just maybe, a way to fix Abstraction. The problem is it’s a devil’s bargain that threatens more than it saves and the gang are becoming increasingly aware that there's a lot more going on than what it appears and they're going to need a lot of additional help if they want to figure out the truth.
Abby has a problem.
She’s just received a desperate message begging her to reach out to five people she’s never met because if she doesn’t bring them together an entire digital world may come unraveled. It shouldn’t be her problem, except… It kinda is. After all the request came from herself (sort of).
A powerful tech company now stands between the digital and the real world, driving the two to work together, because if the curtain falls on the digital circus, it might fall on everyone.

Kinger mumbles an affirmative under his breath. The sound of scratching on paper grabs Caine's attention, only just noticing the notepad in the other's hand. He watches the pencil dance across the paper, slightly entranced by the movement, until it stops and Kinger's attention is back on him. "Alright. What's the last thing you remember?"
Nothingness. The absence of himself. A moment that never existed, yet he knows the time passed, so something has to be there. Even if it isn't. Even if he wasn't. He thinks this, and comes up with a response that makes sense with the context he has in his mind. He doesn't compute how it will come across when all he has to say is:
"Nothing."
OR:
Caine is dead. Then, he isn't. Not because the humans wanted to see him again, not because they felt bad, but because the circus couldn't survive without him. To top it all off, he was only brought back to begin with thanks to one teeny, tiny little condition:
He can no longer use his powers.

Pomni wasn’t really sure what to expect when she threw her hat in the ring for Operation: RETRIEVE CAINE. All she knew was that someone had to do it, and she sure as fuck didn’t think any of the others would do it.
The entire thing hinged on the hope that his file still existed somewhere in the bin since for some reason, Kinger couldn’t just find the file directly from their new computer. Some explanation about indexes and file corruption that went over her head- but because of this, someone needed to be deleted and dropped into the bin to interact with him and hopefully get a file reference to him, so that hopefully, when they’re brought back, he (or at least something Caine-adjacent) gets dragged back as well.
Hopefully.
God, this is beyond fucked.

In a last-ditch attempt to stop the circus from falling apart, Pomni gets sent into the bin to retrieve Caine, which, if everything went well, should restore functionality to the Circus. It should be fine, probably- it’ll be just like some convoluted high stakes adventure! Easy-peasy lemon-squeezy.It’s too bad files don’t really work like that.
