Jayce and Viktor finally get married and begin to live their lives as a married couple. It's everything that they dreamed of at first, but then they both feel like something is missing in their lives. They start to look into fostering a child and possibly adopting one. After all, they are renowned scientists, shouldn't raising a child be easy?
Powder is a 7-year-old child who is in the foster system. Her family is dead. Except for her sister who left her. Who she hates. No one wants to adopt her. Powder only has herself. All the foster parents and families aren't interested in adoption, they just want to feel good about themselves. When they get tired of her that's when she gets sent back and gets shipped off with someone else. So when a married couple wants to foster her, why would this time be any different?

“Powder?”
Her eyes are red and puffy, and her face is swollen - there’s a nasty bruise forming on her cheek.
“Hey,” she repeats, sounding hollow and resigned. “I didn’t know where to go.”
Viktor stays silent, watching her - but just like he feels younger, she must too, because she doesn’t lash out, or scream at him for what he did.
She sniffles, and hugs herself tighter.
“I thought it was a second chance. And then I jinxed it.” She looks at him, not afraid but alone. “And I figured that, hey, who will understand a monster better than another monster, right?”
Or; instead of dying in the finale, Viktor appears in the past. Jinx got zapped with him.

Maybe this isn’t a second chance, but instead an elaborate scheme to make him feel annoyed and guilty.“If you’re going to be climbing up the ventilation system, you need some protection for that pretty face of yours,” Mel explains, tapping her chin. “Also, the proper reaction is, still, saying thank you.”
Viktor scowls at her.
“Relinquish the flesh!” She exclaims, ignoring his annoyance; a joyful smile on her face.
Maybe he should've just died when he had the chance to.
Or: Death is supposed to be final, or so Viktor thought; because if it is, then why had he woken up in his childhood bedroom?
Or; after the finale, rather than dying, Viktor is spat out back in the past. Ridden with guilt, he decides to change the outcome of his fate. He helps people along the way.
